What is Shirazi Salad?
Shirazi salad is a Persian salad recipe that originates from southern Iran. Its main ingredients are Persian cucumber, plum tomato, red onion, extra virgin olive oil, herbs, and lime juice.
It’s a fantastic summer side dish recipe that pairs well with kebabs or heavy main meals. It’s also similar to pico de Gallo that is another popular salad recipe.

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 4 persian cucumbers diced
- 4 plum tomato diced
- 1 small red onion finely chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley finely chopped
- 2 tbsp mint leaves finely chopped
- 1 small lime juice
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper

- In a large bowl, stir and combine all ingredients and season with salt and black peper.
