Beef Marinade
- 500 g (2.1 cups) flank steak cubed
- 2 tbsp light soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1.5 tbsp garlic paste
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
Broccoli and rice
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 300 g (3.3 cups) broccoli floret
- 400 g (2.5 cups) cooked rice from day before
- 1 small onion finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves finely chopped
- 2 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp (0.3 tsp) sesame seeds garnish
Instructions
Marinate and prep beef
- Marinate the cubed flank steak with light soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, garlic, and brown sugar. Use a freezer bag or meal prep container to keep this marinated in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
Cook everything in one pot
- Add vegetable oil to your wok or skillet on high heat.
- Cook the marinated beef for 5 minutes and set aside.
- In the same wok or skillet, add the onion, garlic cloves, and broccoli floret. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Add the cooked rice, light soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, and cooked beef.
- Stir to combine and allow it to cook for 2-3 minutes. Ensure the rice is crispy.
- Season with salt and black pepper. Garnish with sesame seeds.
